Our Experience with J. Kuhliger's Fine Art Legacy

In 1990 Oddities Studio had the opportunity of visiting the art expo “Art of the Ancient Cultures of Mezzo-America” at the National Institute of Anthropology and History in México City, the exhibition included art provided by the National Institute of the Fine Arts of México “Department of Anthropological Studies” and the “National School of Plastic Arts”; Among the most outstanding artworks displayed there, we found the oil paintings of the very talented Mexican Artist, M.F.A. Jorge Alberto Kuhliger Bertoni. The fine artistic quality of his masterworks led us to meet him at his studio in Guadalajara. That visit allowed us to discover the artistic potential of J. Kuhliger directly from him. He was a very dedicated artist whose distinctive artistic style was characterized by ingenious creativity and a gifted plastic dexterity expressed in eloquent scenes of explicit evocative content and a fine quality rendition. The large art production rich in diversity of themes and design plans drove our studio to participate in the promotion of his art legacy.

In this publication we present part of the Fine Art Series "The Mayan Cosmogony". which is one of the most representative icons of his artistic production.

 J. Kuhliger commissioned our studio to promote his work with twenty four fine artworks: Four Large Format Oil Paintings from “The Mayan Cosmogony Series”; Nine Oil Pastel Renderings from “The Ancient Mayan Architecture Series” (shown in the Art Gallery page of this website and Eleven Conté Crete Pencil Renderings from “The Ancient Mayan Habitat Landscapes Series”.

Throughout thirty five years, Oddities Studio has contributed to promote and preserve the valuable artistic legacy of J. Kuhliger, which has a very important place in the history of the Mexican Fine Art.
Throughout these years we've been able to witness, at fine art exhibitions and art auctions, the effect that the masterworks of J. Kuhliger have on the public; those experiences have given us the chance to realize that his artworks delight all kinds of aesthetic tastes; it has also been a remarkable experience witnessing the affable response and acknowledgement granted to his work from the art institutions and art experts; and the great appreciation that the public has granted to his suigeneris art production. All these evidences allowed us to confirm the great cultural contribution of the artistic legacy of J. Kuhliger. The opinions of those that have acquired his masterworks (ours included), agree that the overwhelming artistic quality of J. Kuhliger’s art production is a  rewarding investment that delivers great value and very pleasing experiences.
